How can you choose to be something you've never heard of

Hi, I'm Josh C.

I am an independent individual with an ability to undertake my own research, learning and adapting in each situation. I communicate well within a team, quickly making decisions right for both the team and the company. My passion for IT has led me to develop my own software, and gain a deep understanding of a range of existing applications. I am a dedicated worker who is always striving to produce the highest standard and looking to improve based on feedback and self analysis. I’m resilient and always try my hardest to achieve the best results for myself and others. Learning is one of my main drivers and I always try my best to learn new and improved ways to organise myself and conduct my work while also being more efficient towards accomplishing my goals.

In the next 5 years I hope to be placed within a software development department working my hardest to prevent problems and find solutions in an effective environment. Working everyday in a job I care about will motivate me to achieve the best for my company, clients and colleagues.

My Projects

I’m proud of my work to develop a tap typing tutor programme. This was designed with quick and easy access in mind, allowing the user to gain experience in typing on a keyboard, learning to develop speed through interaction with the programme. I enjoyed developing the rewards app content and felt it important users feel motivated to do more by gaining a sense of achievement.

I found development of this programme a fun, hands-on experience. I purposely chose Java to test myself as I had little experience in the language. Even though I never completed the full roadmap for development I am pleased I produced a functionally working product and enjoy returning to review what could improve this further.

More recently I have also been working on a new project called ‘Conway's Game of Life’. I’m working in my spare time to work out the best language to apply, exploring the application of Javascript to the project and working out how to overcome the problems this poses.
